Material Research

Ph.D. graduated at the University of Žilina, Slovakia, Department of the Materials Engineering in the field of Threshold States of Materials. Currently I am working on the Research Centre of the University of Žilina and my research activities are focused on improvement of mechanical properties, mainly fatigue resistance, of conventional structural materials, mostly by creation of nanocrystalline layers on their surfaces. The aim is to increase design margin to improve safety and reliability and also to increase the load capacity of vehicles, which is accompanied by reduction of fuel consumption. So far, I have published more than 20 scientific articles indexed in Web of Science and more than a hundred smaller research papers. For cooperation proposals you can contact me andy time through my Research Gate profile.

In 2019 was published my most comprehensive scientific publication – a scientific monograph entitled: “Influence of Nano-grained Surface Layer on Fatigue Properties of Structural Materials” in Pearson publishing house (UK). It contains almost 10 years of systematic research of various surface treatments and process parameters and their influence on fatigue properties of steels and aluminum alloys.

For my work I have received a number of national and international awards:

Award of the rector of the University of Žilina for the year 2020 in the category: Excellent representation of the University of Žilina. 8th of December, 2020.

Finalist of ESET Science Award in category Exceptional Young Scientist in Slovakia under the Age of 35, 14th of October 2020.

Award of the director of the Research Centre of the University of Žilina for the year 2019 in the category: science, research and innovation. 17th of December, 2019.

Award of the rector of the University of Žilina for exceptional scientific contribution and international cooperation, 25th of September, 2017.

Award for the best doctoral dissertation thesis among 12 universities from Slovak republic, Czech and Poland in a competition organized by VŠB-TU Ostrava, Czech republic, 26th of March, 2015.
